Chica and Jo

Being a Crafter doesn't only mean having a strong connection to arts and crafts and loving every brush stroke you make. But also to develop an absolute adoration for ChicaAndJo.com from the first click on. Chica and Jo are two family-oriented, fun-loving women who enjoy tackling life one project at a time. They created their Web site to share their ideas to help inspire the readers to tap into their creative side whether they are figuring out a new use for a thrift store find, planning this year's most talked about party or helping their kids create a masterpiece.

Interview

Bulb in Blue: When did you start crafting and why?

Chica and Jo: We have both been crafters for our whole lives, and had developed quite a reputation among our friends for the amazing and creative things we would make. So many of them kept telling us that we needed to write all our ideas down somewhere, and one day we thought of putting them in a blog.  We were so excited at the idea and jumped in with both feet. That was about three years ago, and we're still loving every minute of it!

Bulb in Blue: Sometimes inspiration is a rare gift, so where do you get yours from?

Chica and Jo: From each other mostly. We work really well as a team and our ideas are truly a collaborative effort. Of course, we are also inspired a lot by all of the other crafters on the internet. We love what a great online community there is among crafters.

Bulb in Blue: Made you working and crafting for such a long time favor certain materials and tools?

Chica and Jo: We love working with common items and trying to figure out another use for them.  Blue jeans are a favorite of ours.  We have made quilts, scrapbooks, water bottle holders and aprons out of old blue jeans.  As far as tools go, Chica can't live without her glue gun and Jo loves to use spray paint on anything she can!  We both really love our non-stick scissors as well.

Bulb in Blue: Which kind of materials can you recommend/ disadvise?

Chica and Jo:Use what you have around the house first.  We try to spend very little money on our craft projects. It's like a game for us to be resourceful and tends to make you stretch your creative mind a bit more. For tools you use on a regular basis, we advise crafters to spend what they need to to get the tools that they like best.  Don't waste your money on a bunch of junky tools!

Bulb in Blue: How does it make you feel when you see how much people appreciate your ideas, crafts and your website?

Chica and Jo:We love to get commments from our readers where they tell us that we helped them with a problem or inspired them to do something spectacular on their own.  We love what we do and are thrilled when it happens to make somebody else happy as well!

Thank you for this interview and keep on crafting for the love of your readers!
