Clasps

A very important part of making your own jewelry is choosing the right clasps. You'd hate to lose a gorgeous new bracelet just because it wasn't attached properly. The choice of clasps is so huge that you can choose one which perfectly matches your taste. Generally, one kind of clasp isn’t restricted to one type of jewelery creation.

Screw clasp

As the name indicates, the screw clasp screws together using two hands. It is often used for necklaces, but not for bracelets. Furthermore, it isn’t appropriate for stiff, rigid jewelery made with metal thread because it could unscrew on its own.

Spring clasp

The spring clasp is the most commonly used type. It can be made of silver, gold or brass for use on all types of jewelery- necklaces, bracelets...

“T” clasp

This type of clasp is made of two pieces. To close jewelery, put the stick through the round piece.

Pressure clasp

The pressure clasp functions in a similar way to buttons- pressure. It can be used for necklaces or bracelets.

Magnet clasp

The magnet clasp is made of two poles of a magnet which attract each other. This type of clasp allows easy opening of jewelery, however there is a risk of losing the jewelery.
