Tools
  • Razorblade (or cutter)
  • Ruler
  • Dough machine (or rolling pin)
  • Oven
Materials
  • Polymer clay (Fimo) of various colors
    • White
    • Different shades of pink (baby pink, candy pink, fuchsia)
    • Various greens
    • Violet
    • Orange
    • Dark Yellow
    • Transparent
Directions

Heart of the Fimo Flower Cane

  • Sculpt the initial heart – With the bundle the wanted canes & slightly tinted transparent ones (1).

  • Surround it with bands of very bright & pearly white followed by bands of orange.

  • Make slight lesions with the razorblade (wrapped in baking paper) all around the cane (2).

Petals of the Fimo Flower Cane

  • Make two rolled up layered tones with the darker ones in the center (3).

  • Cut them along their length into four and put one aside (4).

  • Nestle them in together and cut the quarter put aside into two (5).

  • Place the two pieces on each end to balance the design.

  • Sculpt some sausage shapes in the same color as the design, 3 light and 4 dark.
  • Add the dark ones on one side of the design and the light ones to the other.

  • Compact it into a rectangular bloc and roll a thin sheet of fuchsia clay around it.

NB : Leave a slight gap in order to mark out a slighter notch at the extremity of the petal.

  • Reduce the cane (6).

  • Stretch it to give it the shape of a petal (7).

  • Cut as many petals as possible and ring them around the heart.

  • Sculpt the tip of each petal slightly as a point.

  • Wedge some transparent triangles between each petal on the exterior (so that they can detach themselves but keep their form).

  • Position them around the heart.

  • Add a small transparent band around the ensemble (8).

  • Reduce it (9).

  • Stretch the cane without deforming it by first pressing down on the middle and then, as regularly as possible, pressing down gradually towards the exteriors (10).

  • Place it in a cool place before using it.
