What is a back stitch?

  • The back stitch, a variant of the threaded back stitch, is as strong as the threaded stitch and faster to do.
  • The stitches aren't juxtaposed, but are spaced out by a stitch length.

How to sew a back stitch

  • For a 2 mm threaded stitch, working from right to left : make a 2 mm stitch on the right side, on the right and a 6 mm stitch on the wrong side on the left.
  • Restitch 2 mm on the right, and push out the neddle 6 mm on the left, etc. On the right side, the stitches will be spaced out by 2 mm.
