Diamond Pattern

Diamond Pattern Make a friendship bracelet: diamond pattern  :

To make a diamond pattern bracelet, alternate your knots between the diamond and cross patterns. The diamond knots begin with an inverse chevron "filled" with a series of foward and backward knots until a V is made.

Supplies
Tools
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure
Materials
  • Several skeins of embroidery floss or other cotton thread, cut into 80-cm (32-inch) sections
  • 1.2 m (4 ft) of embroidery floss of a different color (this thread will make the diamond pattern; in the example, green)
Directions

Begin the diamond pattern

For a bracelet measuring about 15 cm (6 inches):

  • Knot several threads together (here, 8 threads in 4 different colors).

  • With each strand of thread, make an inverse chevron.

  • Start an inverse chevron with threads 1 and 8.
NB: Don't make knots on threads 4 and 5.
  • Make 2 forward knots with thread 4 on thread 8 and 2 backward knots with thread 5 on thread 1.

  • Continue in the same way (with inverse chevrons) with threads 2 and 7, then 3 and 6.

Complete the diamond pattern and repeat

  • Finish the diamond by making 2 backward knots with thread 4 on thread 5.

  • Start over with a chevron with threads 8 and 1.
