Directions
Pattern desgin for decoupage idea
- Fold the A4 sheet in 2, lengthways.
- Draw half a heart on the folded piece of paper (1).
or download the pattern here.
- Draw a bordering line 0.5cm inside the line, then another one 1.5cm inside, followed by a final line after another 1.5cm (2).
- All along the border, draw numerous hearts (so they disappear into the border) (3).
NB: The hearts must be touching and going into the border, as they will be cut out.
- On the inside of these hearts (inside the 1.5cm gap) draw numerous little hearts which will be cut out (4).

- Draw the shape of a half-vase made up of stems, stalks and flowers of different sorts.

Cut out the template for the decoupage idea
- Start cutting out with small scissors, using the scissor tip to pierce the bits which are being taken out.

- Work slowly, calmly, with precaution and precision.
- Turn the paper around in your hands without ever opening it.
- When all the parts have been cut out, finish off using the hammer and die cutter in making alternate small and larger holes, for added decoration.

- Don't hesitate to trim again with the scissors to improve the flower pattern.
Finishing touches to the decoupage idea
- Being delicate, open your work and admire it by placing it on a black background.
- Put several dots of glue (with the tip of a tooth pick for example) to stick it to the black background.

NB: Don't use too much glue, that would flatten your creation and damage the relief character.
Tips
- Design this heart with "contemplativeness", without pressure or the wish that it has to become perfect. Your work will be more pleasant and precious in this way. You can anytime stop cutting and restart later.
- Practice the drawing of motifs on scratch paper first before copying it on the acutal paper.
