Recycled tidy-away Free craft tutorial

A clever idea to help tidy children’s and teenagers’ rooms: the recycled tidy-away that is not only a personalized and cheap form of storage, but a great way to recycle and be eco-friendly.

Supplies
Tools
  • White paper glue
  • Utility knife
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
Materials
  • Biscuit box
  • Gift wrapping paper
Directions

Make the tidy-away

  • Fold the box in half and glue the two pieces together.

  • Draw a semi-circle on the edge of the box, cut it out with the utility knife.

  • Cut a rectangle, which is bigger than the bottom of the box, from the gift wrapping paper.
  • Do the same for both sides.

  • Cover the bottom of the box with a very thin layer of glue:
  • Carefully position the paper, making sure not to make air bubbles, onto the box and fold the edges over the sides of the box.
  • Repeat this step with the other side but without glueing the upper edges.
  • Cut the upper edges out with the utility knife once the glue has dried.

  • Cut out the two other sides of the box from the wrapping paper, taking precise measurements this time.
  • Stick them onto the box.
