Tools
Materials
  • Boiled wool 25cm x 6 cm (10 x 2.4 inches) (or fleece/felt...)
  • Matching thread
Directions
  • Download and print the template of the flower petals.
  • Cut out the fabric according to the template.
  • Do forward stitches (stitches of about 3 mm/ 1.2 inches) at the bottom of the 3 rows, at 0.5 cm/0.2 inches away from the edge.
  • Tighten the thread in order to have :
    • 2 cm (0.8 inches) on the 3 small petals:
    • 4 cm (1.6 inches) on the 5 medium petals:
    • 8 cm (3.2 inches) on the 8 large petals.

  • Start with the flower’s stamen:
    • fold the first petal:
    • fold the other 2 petals on either side:
    • sew the bottom.

  • Wind up the 2nd row around itself without overlapping.
  • Sew it to the stamen, firmly but without squeezing.

  • Ensure that the base is as flat as possible.
  • Repeat this process with the 3rd row: sew it onto the 2nd row.
  • Always make sure that the base is as flat as possible.

  • If you’d like your flower to be a brooch or barrette, attach the support onto the disk.
  • Sew this disk onto the bottom of the petals, without tightening them.
