This is a wonderfully playful Advent Calendar. As the days pass, discover the felt figurines hidden inside the crochet pocket purses and attach them to the Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve the decoration of the tree will be complete. An original idea for an Advent Calendar from KittyKréa!

Jigsaw
Sandpaper
Thick paintbrushes
Tissue paper and Super Glue

Pencil and rubber
3.5 mm crochet needle (US size E/4)
Sewing kit

Materials

Different colored felt
Colored thread
Wooden rod
2 nails
Christmas star
Piece of plywood measuring 120cm x 170cm (47 x 70 inches).
Paint in various colors:
- white for the undercoat
- green
- light green
- brown
3 balls of yarn of 4 – 4.5 weight (medium/Fisherman/worsted weight) in green/red/cream
Gold spray paint
Sheets of paper and tracing paper
Absorbent cotton for stuffing
Small decorations: pearls, buttons, beads, sequins, pipe cleaners, felt shapes etc.

Directions

Make the Christmas tree out of plywood.
Hang it on the wall.

Crochet 23 crochet pocket purses in different colors.

Cut the numbers 1 to 23 out of the red, cream and green felt. Make them a bit smaller in size than the crochet pocket purses.

Stick the numbers onto the pouches.

Make 46 small Christmas figurines out of felt.

Fill each pouch with 2 figurines.
Take 2 felt strips and nail the 2 ends of each strip to the bottom of each side of the Christmas tree, to make 2 felt sconces.
Order the pocket purses from 1 to 23 and thread them onto the wooden rod.
Make a pocket purse which is slightly larger than the others out of yellow felt.
Decorate it as you like, marking it with the number 24.
Hide a star inside (see the sequin-decorated star in the photo for an example).
