French Braiding Learn how to make
 :

Fancy trying something creative and different with your hair? French braiding is for you! Fun to try and full of possibilities, french braiding is the perfect way to give yourself a great new hairdo. This braid headband completes straight or curled hair styles.

Supplies
Tools
  • A tail comb to make it easier to separate the hair.
Materials
  • Elastic hairties
  • Hair spray to set your hairstlye in place
  • Optional: gems, flowers (artificial or fresh), barrettes etc...
Directions

How to do french braiding

  • Divide the hair by making a parting from one ear to the other, a few inches from the forehead (more or less depending on the desired width of the braid).
  • Attach the hair back with a clip or elastic.
  • Take a handful of hair at the base of one ear.
  • Divide into 3 roughly equal sections.
  • Weave this to secure the braid to the head, as follows:
    • Move the section of hair on the right to the middle of the 2 other sections.
    • Now move the section of hair on the left to the middle.
    • Add some hair to the section on the right and move it all to the middle.
    • Now add some hair to the section on the left and again move it to the middle.
    • Proceed until you reach the other ear, and used up all the hair.

Alternative:

  • Instead of adding the hair to the sections at the side, add to the middle section- the effect will be slightly different (as shown in the photo) and a more dramatic ‘fish bone’ effect.

  • Fasten the end of the braid securely behind the ear.

Finish the french braid

  • Style the rest of the hair as desired.
  • Secure the braid with hair spray.
  • Accessorize as desired, with barrettes, jewels, flowers… Use your imagination!
