 When Christmas comes around and you need to be resourceful, Cilou's creative idea is perfect for you. This collage Christmas tree made from recycled materials is the perfect thing to make with your children. Using some 40 toilet roll tubes, you can make a Christmas tree to hang up and decorate with paint, sequins, baubles and garlands. 
Supplies
Tools
  • Glue gun
  • Fake snow spray
  • String
  • Decorations
Materials
  • 36 tubes cardboard tubes (used toilet rolls or wrapping paper tubes, cut into pieces)
  • 1 longer carboard tube (used paper towel roll)
Directions

Make the base of the collage Christmas tree

  • Glue together 8 cardboard tubes in a row.
  • Glue together a second row, this time made up of 7 cardboard tubes. Then glue that on top of the row of 8.
  • Glue together a third row this time of 6 and glue that on top of the row of 7. Continue this process until you finish your pyramid by placing the final roll on the top.

  • Glue on the longest tube underneath to be the trunk of the tree.

 Decorate the collage Christmas tree

  • Spray the tree with the fake snow to cover up any irregular areas.
  • Attach some string to hang up the tree.

  • Hang on the base of the tree some light pieces of tinsel or other types of decoration and hang it up amongst your other Christmas decorations.

Another idea

  • To add an even more festive feel to your tree, why not sprinkle some silver sequins on it?
