Materials
- 1 sponge cake
- Edible felt tip pens
- 1 egg white
- Spread
- Icing sugar
- Food coloring
- 3 toothpicks
- 3 kebab sticks
- Crepe paper
- Cardboard for support
- For 1.5kg of edible modelling paste:
NB: from the 1.5kg of modelling paste, 150g will remain white, but color the rest blue.
Directions
- Cut your cake to give the shape of the plane.

- Cover the whole of the cake with two big tablespoons of spread.

Make the tale of the aeroplane cake

Take 180g of blue modelling paste to make the tail of the plane.

Make a rectangle 15cm x 4cm for the lower part (in the image below).

Make a small dent in the rectangle, into which will sit the fin of the plane.

Make a second rectangle measuring 15cm x 4cm for the fin.

Stick the 2 pieces together with a bit of egg white and let it dry.


Make the wings
- Use 300g of modelling paste to make the wings (150g for each wing). They measure 12.5cm long and 7cm wide.

Take 2 5g pieces of modelling paste to make the eyebrows.

Roll them out into an oval shape:

Cut it in half and stick your pieces to the cake.







- Use 5g of blue modelling paste cut in 2 for the eyes, which are flattened and then rounded. Stick them under the eyebrows.

Put all the aeroplane cake parts together
- Reinforce the wings of the plane with 3 wooden kebab sticks and the tail fin with 3 toothpicks.


Finitions

Draw on the windows with edible felt tip pens.

Color with food coloring.

Optional: Write on the registration number of your plane with the edible felt pens.

Take a solid, double-thick piece of card to make the runway.

Cover it in black crepe paper to make the white strips of the runway (with more crepe paper or stickers).
