Flower Garland

To make ten paper flowers

Make the petals of the flower garland

• Draw a symmetrical, roundish shape on the paper.

                                       

• Cut out the template.

• Make twenty copies of the template on the paper. 

• NB: a flower is made up of two shapes or 'petals'.

• Cut out the petals.

• Paint one side.

• Leave it to dry.

• Paint the other side of each petal.

• Leave it to dry.

Make your flowers

• Make your flowers by pairing up two petals. 

• Make a lit several centimetres long, from the top to the middle of the first petal of each flower. The slit should be about half as long as the petal. 

  

• Cut a slit the same length from the bottom to the middle of the second petal of each flower.
• Cut a little hole, the size of a scooby doo (lanyard) string, at the top of the first 10 petals.

• Fit the two slits together.

• If the two petals do not fit perfectly together, cut the slits longer, keeping them equal length.

Thread the flowers onto the garland

• Pass the soobydoo (lanyard) through each flower and spread them out along the string.
