Bathbombs How to make your own bathbombs

It’s quick, easy and cheap to make your own bath bombs using your favourite fragrances. They’re kind to the skin and make a lovely personalised gift when wrapped up in pretty packaging.

Supplies
Tools
  • 2 small bowls
  • 1 craft knife
  • 1 old table-tennis ball
Materials
  • 3 tbsp cornmeal
  • 4 small packets of baking powder
  • 40g citric acid powder
  • 4 tbsp almond or coconut oil
  • 5 drops essential oil of your choice
  • Food colouring (optional)
  • Dried petals (optional)
Directions
  • Sieve the cornmeal, baking powder and citric acid into a bowl and mix together.
  • In the other bowl, stir both the oils together and add the food colouring as desired.
  • Add the oil mixture to the dry mixture in the other bowl and knead everything together well.
  • Use the craft knife to cut the old table-tennis ball in half.
  • Fill both halves of the ball with the mixture and then press both halves together firmly.
  • Loosen the ball halves carefully away from the bath bomb.
  • Leave your bath bombs to dry out for a few days before using.

!: Try mixing dried flower petals into the bath bomb mixture – choose petals to complement your essential oil e.g. lavender petals with lavender oil, rose petals with rose oil...
