Supplies
Tools
- 1 cutter
- 1 ruler
- 1 glue gun
- 1 (or more) paintbrush(es)
Materials
- A sheet of A3 tracing paper (or 2 pieces of A4 stuck together with Scotch tape lengthways)
- Double grooved cardboard (6mm)
- Liquid neoprene glue
- Some glue sticks for the glue gun
- Kraft rubber
- Gesso
- Acrylic paint
Directions
Bottom of the serving tray
- Cut out from the cardboard:
- 1 piece 30cm x 45 cm, with the grooves going horizontally.
- 1 piece 30cm x 45 cm, with the grooves going vertically.
- Stick the two pieces together with neoprene glue. You have the base of the tray.
Sides of the serving tray
- Copy out on the tracing paper the outline of the shapes of the sides of the tray.
NB: The shape creates half of the sides of the tray.
- Copy out the shape onto the tray 2 times to give 2 long pieces and 2 shorter pieces.
NB: The grooves run parallel to the edge in tis case.
- Cut the shapes out with a cutter.
- Stick the 4 cut out pieces on the outside of the base using hot glue.
NB: The edges corresponding to the length of the tray are the same as those of the length of the bottom. Regarding the sides corresponding to the length, those which are of equal dimensions to the length of the base, the thickness of the card is 2 times thicker (in this case 0.6cm x 2== 1.2cm)

Finishing touches to the serving tray
- Stick gum paper on all the ridges, folding it as little as possible.
- Apply a layer of gesso to the whole of the tray.
- Decorate with acrylic paint.
