Paper Angel

With just a few snips of a pair of scissors, you can make a pretty little paper angel. This angel is an excellent party decoration; it serves as a place marker, or it can be transformed into a mobile, or many other things as well!

Directions

Trace two circles that have the same center point :
- The smaller circle for the head should have a radius of 8 mm (0.8 cm).
- The larger circle for the body should have a radius of 3.2 cm.

Draw two lines that pass through the center of the circles (without marking the head) that measure 2.4 cm on each side of the head.
Mark the middle of each line (1.2 cm between the head and the outter circle).
Cut a slit along the red line shown above up to the middle mark. One slit should reach from the outside circle to the middle mark, the other slit should reach from the perimeter of the center circle to the middle mark. This allows you to close the body of the angel and form the wings.
Draw one more line (shown in the diagram as a dotted line) that forms a 90° angle to the other lines you just drew, which also passes through the center of the circles.
Cut along the red line:
- around the circumference of the outer circle,
- along the dotted line that marks the outer edge of the wings (with pinking shears if possible),
- around the head.
Finish by cutting along the two slits in the sides.
Align the two slits so that they overlap and slide one into the other in order to form the body of the angel.
