Let's magically transform our little one into a Pumpkin to celebrate Halloween. This Halloween costume pattern is really easy to make. You sew together a trapeze dress in orange velvet and decorate it with a pumpkin face.
Pin a small trapeze dress pattern onto the fabric.
Trace around the edges in chalk leaving a 1 cm allowance for sewing and 3 cm for the hem. Think about making it 2-3 sizes larger than needed so that the costume isn't too tight.
Trace a halloween face onto the dark fabric and cut it out (we are left with 2 eyes and 1 mouth).
Pin or baste the three shapes, with reverse side to right side, onto the front of the dress.
Cut a small vent at the back of the dress, down from the center of the collarline.
Hem the vent.
Sew the sides, right sides facing, and sew in the lower edge of the dress with a zig-zag stitch. (Option now to use an overlock machine).
Sew in a hem tunnel.
Thread the elastic through the tunnel and tie it with a knot.
