Felt food  Fun for kids: how to make felt food

Soft felt food for your children play with hours on end!

Supplies
Tools
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors
Materials
  • White, green, red, light yellow and light brown thin felt
  • Cotton wool (or synthetic stuffing)
  • Matching thread
  • Green, white and brown embroidery thread
Directions

Mushrooms

  • Copy out patterns A to E onto the felt. 

  • Sew the stalk.

 

  • Sew shut with the help of part B and stuff it with cotton wool.

  • Sew parts C and D together, following the green lines of the pattern.

  • Sew on part E

  • Turn over the mushroom cap

  • Stuff with cotton wool and close it up.

  • Sew the parts together.
  • Embroider the gills of the mushroom underside.

Toast

  • Cut out pattern F twice as well as a long strip with the dimensions given in diagram G.
  • Sew the parts together and stuff.

Salad

  • Cut out the salad pattern twice from the felt
  • Embroider each of the two sides
  • Sew the two parts together.

Strawberry

  • Cut out patterns A to C as Découpez en suivant les patrons A, B et C.
  • Sew together and fill.
  • Embroider spots (as shown in fig.2).

Bean

  • Cut out pattern D twice
  • Sew together the 2 sides and fill with cotton wool.

Cheese

  • Cut out the different shapes E to I as indicated.
  • Put together in the following order :
    • Parts E and G,
    • F to G
    • EG and FG along a single side,
    • the rest of the parts.
