Bath Robe How to make a kids bath robe

It's hot out there so time to hit the pool or the beach with the kids! Check out this fabulous towel-robe tutorial for children, created by crafter Figgirl!

Supplies
Tools
  • Sewing scissors
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
Materials
  • Beach towel
Directions
  • Fold robe in half along the long sides to determine the length of the robe.
  • If satisfied with the length, leave it as is. If not, trim until satisfied- leave enough room for a 1 inch hem on the end you cut.
  • With the towel still folded, cut straight up the front side along the center, and then along the fold- 1 inch less than the hood will be wide.

  • Fold over and hem the bottom, either side of the slit, and the front half of the hood opening.
  • The hood should be sewn onto the back side.
  • If you used the bottom of the towel for the hood, cut it in half and join the two pieces to make a square shape before stitching it in place.
  • Serge or zigzag stitch the raw edge where the hood attaches. Pin the front of the neck onto the hood, sewing in about three inches on each side to make the shoulders.

  • Sew the top of the hood closed and add a ribbon tie at the neck to finish.
