Beach Bag  How to make a kids' beach bag

A bag in the shape of a fish! The perfect decoration or present for a child or to take along to the beach. A great activity for fans of sewing.

Supplies
Tools
  • Sewing accessories
  • Pliers or a hammer
  • Suggested: printer
Materials
  • 2 pieces of cloth, one for the exterior of the fihs, the other for the lining
  • Assorted sewing threads
  • Cotton stuffing
  • 2 grommets
  • Thin cord
Directions
  • Upload and print the stencile of the fish.

  • Cut it out and trace it onto the inside of the exterior cloth, folded in half.
  • Do the same thing on the cloth for the lining also folded in half- stop tracing before the tails (about 1.5 cm before it)

  • Cut at 1 cm the border for sewing.

  

  • Sew the two exterior cloths, side to side on only one side of the fish. 
  • Do the same with the cloth for the lining (same side).
  • Attach the two cloths- exterior cloth to the lining.

  

  • Sew the top part (where it is straight). 

Placement of the grommets 

  • Place the grommets for the string (by hammer or plier) on the exterior cloth, about 2 c, from the top of each side (close to the sewing of the lining).

  

  • Iron the fold of the sewed cloth/ lining on the side.

  

  • Fold in half, in a way to have the cloth and lining in a way to have cloth to cloth and lining to lining.

  • Sew the sides, and leave only the "tail" part of the lining free.
  • Fold inside out and stuff the tail.

Finishing touches 

  • Sew horizontally right before the tail to guard the stuffing.

  • Sew the bottom of the lining whivh had stayed open until now.
  • Sew horizontally below the grommets. 
  
  • Pass the cord through this hem..
