A grass caterpillar to grow herbs indoors. Great fun for kids, budding gardeners or city homegrowers alike. You can even grow a whole family of grass caterpillars in different sizes! 

 

 

 
Supplies
Tools
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Bucket (soil) 
Materials
  • Old pantyhose (no big holes)
  • Soil
  • Grass seeds
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaners
Directions

Start off the grass caterpillar

  • Cut a leg off of the old pantyhose.

  • Mix about 4 cups of soil and 1 1/2 cups of grass seed in a bowl or a bag.

  • Put about 1/3 of the mixture in the end of the pantyhose leg, tie a knot.

  • Repeat  2 more times cutting off the extra nylon.

Personlize the gress caterpillar

  • Use hot glue for the eyes and pipe cleaners for the antennae.

  • Water regularly.
