Directions
Make the spirals for the clay bowl
- Fashion rolls of clay each with a diameter of 20 cm.
- Roll up on themselves to form spirals.

- Place one against the other in support.
- Turn around the ensemble delicately.
Finish the clay bowl
- With the aide of a spatula, flatten it while stretching the clay slightly to create a flat surface.

- Gently cover your work with saran-wrap and let it dry for many days.
NB: in drying, the work will lose 10% of its size.

- As soon as the clay is dry enough to manipulate yet before it is completely dry, set your plate in to support it.

- Covering your work with new saran-wrap, let it dry completely.

- For the final stage, feel free to paint (acrylic is best), enamel, tissue paper, etc. the clay.
Tips
- If you use pottery clay, it is necessary to fire in a kiln at about 1000 degrees.
- If the clay cracks during the drying, hydrate it with sprinkles of water and smooth it with your fingers. If the crack is serious (such as if the spirals are separated), use clay mixed with water, dab it like an adhesive, and smooth it like new.
- Once the plate dries, scrub any imperfections with a scouring pad (from Scotch Brite).
