Halter Top How to make a halter top

Have a big old T-shirt which is too good to throw away, but don't know what to do with it!?

With the aid of this tutorial you'll be able to make a great fringe halter top for all occasions!

Supplies
Tools
  • Scissors
  • Chalk or adhesive tape (to mark where you're going to cut)
Materials
  • Big T-shirt (at least 2 sizes bigger than your normal size)
Directions

Make the neckline of your halter top

  • Mark out where your waist will be, with the aid of chalk or tape. Try the t-shirt on! The waist band should be about 2 inches.
  • For the halter shape of the shirt:
    • Make a mark from the bottom of the arm to right beside the collar.
    • Mark only one side because you'll fold the shirt in half and cut through both sides at once.
    • Fold the shirt and cut along the halter mark.

Make the back of your halter top

  • Flip the shirt over. The back will be in an allmost T-shape so mark where you want to cut, fold the shirt and then cut just up to the seam of the collar, BUT don't cut through the collar.
  • Cut the bottom waistband off.
  • Mark out the middle on both sides of the shirt.
  • To make sure that all fringes are even, cut through the middle and then cut the parts in half and so on. You can cut through both layers of the shirt, just make sure that it's folded down flat.
  • Once you cut all parts of the shirt, your fringe halter top is completed.
