Chocolate Roses  How to make chocolate roses for Valentine's Day

Pieces of chocolate candy combine with craft supplies to make this unique bouquet of chocolate roses that your loved one will appreciate on Valentine's Day. However, this chocolate bouquet makes a nice romantic gift on any day of the year!

Supplies
Tools
  • Scissors or utility knife
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
Materials
  • For one rose:
    • 2 small, wrapped pieces of chocolate candy (like Hershey's kisses)
    • Red plastic wrap, 13 x 13 cm (5 x 5 inches) square
    • Green plastic wrap, 13 x 13 cm (5 x 5 inches) square
    • Aluminum foil, 13 x 13 cm (5 x 5 inches) square
    • Bamboo skewer
    • Florist tape

Directions

Prepare the 'flowers' for the chocolate roses

  • Cut green plastic square diagonally into 2 triangles.
  • Wrap foil sheet around 2 candy pieces, joining them in the shape of a rose bud.

  • Wrap red plastic square around the foil, twisting tightly closed.
  • Position this bud above bamboo skewer.
  • Wrap florist tape once tightly around the rosebud's base and then continue wrapping down full length of bamboo skewer.

  • Put the 'bouquet' of chocolate roses together
  • Fold green plastic pieces into leaflike shapes and attach at bud's base with florist tape.
