These decorated boxes are good for decoration as well as for storage. You can also use them as gift card boxes on the gift table at a wedding reception, recipe boxes, or anything else that strikes your fancy! Thanks to Martha at So Lovely Creations for sharing this easy and creative idea.

Here, the instructions are for a supply box, but you can modify the design to make anything you want.
Supplies
Tools
  • Glue gun
  • Stamp pad
  • Paintbrush (to apply the decoupage glue)
Materials
  • Cardboard box
  • Scrapbook paper or napkins
  • Embellishment (beads, glitter, ribbon, etc.)
  • Decoupage glue
  • Spray paint
Directions

Prepare the base of the decorated boxes

  • Glue all flaps at the bottom of the box together to hold the box closed.

  • Hide the flaps at the top of the box by gluing them to the inside of the box.
  • Spray paint the box in light coats until it is fully covered.

  • Cut a square of scrapbook paper and decoupage it to the front of the box.

NB: It will be wrinkly.

Finishing touches to the decorated boxes 

  • Distress the box by rubbing a stamp pad over the paper and sides of the box.

  • Embellish.
