Materials
  • 55 x 80 cm of material for side 1
  • 55 x 80 cm of material for side 2
  • Matching sewing thread
  • Ribbon
Directions

The measurements of this apron are based on an adult measuring 1 meter 70cm and up to a size 42 waist.

First side of the reversible apron

  • Fold the material into 2 along its length.
  • Cut a rectangle of 26cm (52cm unfolded) and 80cm long.

  • Trace a curve by hand, 10cm high and 20cm long (not on the side of the fold)..

  • Pin the circle and cut.

  • Create the design you would like to attach to the apron.
  • Position it and attach it with a zigzag stitch.

Second side of the reversible apron

  • Position the second piece of material onto the back of the first piece, back to back.

  • Pin it and cut.
  • Position the ribbon and attach on the apron, some to go around the waist and some around the neck (70 to 75 cm).

  • Tie a knot at the end of the ribbon which will be on the inside, to avoid it unravelling later.

  • Sew around the side, leaving an opening several cm long on the bottom edge to turn it inside out.

  • Cut the corners on angles.

  • Turn inside out.
  • Sew all of the exterier for a pretty finish.

Tips
  • Glue on the design you would like to attach before sewing to make sure it will not move.
