Napkin Ring Embroidery: How to make a napkin ring

A simple and pretty way to decorate your napkin: simply sew embroidered initials onto a basic napkin ring for a special personal touch.

Supplies
Tools
  • Embroidery needle
  • Sewing needle
  • Sewing machine
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
Materials
  • Wooden napkin ring (with an interior diameter of 3.5 cm and a height of 4 cm)
  • 4 x 4 cm piece of cloth for embroidering (not including the hem). ! : The square area of embroidery must be of the same height as the napkin ring.
  • 12 x 5 cm piece of red material
  • Embroidery thread
  • Assorted sewing thread
Directions

Embriodery for the napkin ring

  • Embroider initials on the cloth.
  • Fold and mark on the upper, lower and side of the hem.
  • Stitch on the piece of material, about 2 cm from the bottom, using a horizontal stitch above and below the embroidery along the folded hem.

  • Tuck in the thread on the inside and secure it.
  • With your nail, mark the hem and stitch along it.

Attach initials to the napkin ring

  • Place the embroidery between the outside of the napkin ring and the material without embroidery.
  • Move the outside of the material closer and cut it with small invisible points, so that the material will be tight enough so it doesn’t turn.

! : So that the stitches will be less visible, cut the embroidery by 5mm. Use the prominent edge to make the cuts

  • Once the sewing is finished, slide in the piece of material and place the embroidery on the napkin ring. The sewing will disappear inside the ring.
