For its whole life your health record book is carried around, opened, bent and stuffed into a bag. For its safekeeping and rightful protection, quickly make a fabric book cover with minimal fuss and few materials.

Supplies

Tools

Sewing machine (or a needle)
Scissors
Flatiron
Safety pins

Materials

55 x 30 cm 2 assorted fabrics
55 x 30 cm striped wadding
Fabrics for the patterns
Sewing thread

Directions

Make the book cover

Cut according to the following pattern and sew the pieces (or piece) together to make the outer side.

Place it over the fabric that will make the interior of the protective cover and copy out the layout.

Cut out by hand to obtain the same size of fabric.

Selvedge the right side of each section of fabric one after the other.

Sew the inner and outer fabrics together, and the wadding, whilst leaving one side open.
To make things easier, place the wadding underneath and sew the noticeable fabric.
